Beginners Carving Class

Carving Classes
Our Carving Club holds a 'Beginner's Carving Class' (along with other classes) every year where guests are provided with the opportunity to participate with a number of our members to learn about carving tools, carving basics and after a number of lessons. This provides our guests with the opportunity to use their hands and carving tools in carving some basic woodcarving designs and procedures..
Once they feel more comfortable with their knives, they begin working on a supplied carving by drawing it out and starting to shape them. Over the next few weeks they hone their carvings until they are completed.
As we finalize the upcoming classes for this year, we will post them here on our site - feel free to drop by or contact us if you are interested in trying woodcarving with our club!

Art of the Carver Competition Show & Sale
Be sure to add our upcoming 31st Annual 'Art of the Carver' Competition Show & Sale to your 'must see' fall calendar of events!
We'll have our annual carvers competition, many carvings on display to view & purchase along with vendors offering carving books, tools, equipment and wood for sale (there is also a limited-space carving class available on the Friday).
This years' event will again be held at the Matsqui Community Hall, located at 33676A St. Olaf Avenue in Matsqui Village. The event is open to all levels of carvers and the public, admission is by a $3 donation and children under 12 get in for free!
